Tour Guide Accreditation

Accreditation to become a tour guide is awarded after a short tour guide assessment in one of two ways:

1.  Sign up to an 8-week evening course, lasting for two hours every week.  Courses are generally advertised at the end of July and usually start in September.

On the Tour Guide Course you will:

• Receive a guide handbook

• Undergo classroom-based training

• Attend arranged visits and talks

• Experience guides in action

• Have a chance to attend a first aid training day if you do not hold a valid qualification or wish to refresh your training

2.  Ask for a free tour guide assessment if:

• You are already experienced, or you can purchase our tour guide handbook from the Jetty Visitor Centre.

• You have a valid first aid qualification.

On successful completion of your assessment, you will receive a tour guide accreditation badge and a certificate at a formal presentation (optional).
