Island Hopping
‘Island hopping’ is an experience that makes the Falkland Islands truly ‘special’ – the delight of boarding the Islander aircraft, with every ‘hop’ to travel on to explore a new destination. Each island has something different, and special, to offer by way of wildlife, walking, heritage, history and, of course, hosts who will all open up with a hearty greeting.
The thrill of the small plane is one that never diminishes and there’s always new experiences here too, be it people to chat to on board, eavesdropping on the pilot’s conversations at stopping points, and the spectacular views over land and sea. Watch out for a whale blow, pod of dolphins, soaring seabirds, farming activity and the geological features that make the Falklands’ oceans and landscapes.
With several small islands and a number of settlements and farms on both East and West Falkland offering visitor accommodation, there are plenty of places to choose for your island hopping adventure. Browse further around our website to find out more about places to stay, look for a tour guide to organise your island-hopping itinerary or read about independent travel to create your own.
